Community Computer Rooms

We love helping communities get online.

Having safe access to the internet is a basic right for everyone. We firmly believe that no-one needs to own the latest smartphone, tablet or laptop in order to safely use the internet.

Computer rooms are vital to communities and the come in many different forms. They can be for specific groups and classes (older people, children, language groups), as well as general use for all members of the community having a shared and safe place.

We understand:

  • What makes computer rooms effective

  • Exactly what logistics are needed to set up computer rooms

  • How different types of community centres work. Clubrooms, Sheltered Housing computer stations and residential care homes computer stations

  • The pros and cons of different devices for those rooms (PCs, Chrome Boxes, laptops, Chrome Books, iPads, Android tablets, etc.

  • Strategies and techniques to get the devices procured, installed and managed.

  • Effective training and support methods

  • The importance of the environment where the computers will be positioned

This means we’re very easy to work with. We won’t overcomplicate things or try to sell you products that you don’t need.

Our process is really simple:

We will take the time to understand your community, the spaces available and any digital inclusion strategies you may have.

We will create a draft project plan for you to consider, based on our experience and your requirements. It will have prices and options, so that you can customise it based on what you’re comfortable with.

We will work with you to arrange the installations, including security, furniture, hardware, software, cabling, etc.

We will work through to it’s finished, ensuring you’re comfortable with it and will arrange testing with real users.

We will provide a training and a handover pack, to ensure the devices are safely managed. And we’ll be available to help you afterwards (first month support free).
